Walkin’ M Bull Company is owned and operated by Kris & Misty Martin

Kris and Misty met over 17 years ago, and have been married for 15 years. Kris is a Stock Contractor, and Construction Contractor when time allows. Misty is a Systems Analyst for Westar Energy, as well as handling all the books for Walkin M Bull Co, LLC.
How they became involved in rodeo: Kris rode bulls for over 20 years. He was a member of associations : PRCA, URA, KHSRA, IPRA, and many more. In 2004, Kris retired from riding bulls after a long 20+ year career. . Even after retirement, bull riding was still an addiction. Kris and Misty began buying bulls to keep them in the rodeo action.
In 2005, they purchased their first two bulls (yearlings), who you may know as Big Casino and Boss Hawg. Kris and Misty continued to increase the number of their rodeo bulls, purchasing bulls like TommyGun (Rooster) and Culture Shock (Spotted Spurs), had built an arena at the homeplace, and soon began holding youth and amateur bull ridings at the Walkin M Arena in Hoyt KS.
In mid-2007, the REAL bull riding began as Walkin M started travelling to surrounding areas taking bulls to Open Bull Ridings and a few URA shows. They also held a Benefit Bull Riding at the Walkin M Arena that brought in a large crowd, following up with a terrific show by Ricky Fugitt at The Old Elevator in Valley Falls.
The first part of 2008 Kris and Misty said goodbye to Rooster, who soon became known as TommyGun. Gene Owen hauled him to a number of PBR challenger and Built Ford Tough events throughout the first part of 2008 (http://probullstats.com/bulls/13378/). He even made an appearance on the Versus channel at the Chicago, IL Built Ford Tough event. At the same time, Gene was hauling Spotted Spurs, who became known as Culture Shock throughout the PBR (http://probullstats.com/bulls/14334/). It came down to a decision, Kris wanted Rooster back and Gene couldn't decide which bull he wanted to keep. The deal was done, TommyGun aka Rooster was back with Walkin M. A few days later, TommyGun was on the road with Walkin M and bucking bulls at over 25 bull ridings throughout the summer and fall months.
At the same time, Culture Shock was soon working towards his national television appearance on the Versus Channel, Adriano Moraes drew him in the long round at Cincinnati, OH. He had 11 outs, ridden 4 times in the PBR. Average marked scores were 21 to 22 pts. In the winter of 2008, Walkin M had a chance to bring Culture Shock home. Kris went and picked him up at the 2009 Kansas City PBR Built Ford Tough Event, and now he's leading the pack. Jesse Schellhamer recently rode Culture Shock in Wichita for 93 pts. Jesse is the only bull rider to make the whistle since we brought him home.
Walkin M has many more to be proud of besides TommyGun and Culture Shock, as there are up and coming bulls that may have their turn at becoming PBR buckers. Silver Bullet, Billy the Kid, Knothead, Boss Hawg and Big Casino all have the potential to go to the PBR. So, whenever Walkin M is in your area (keep you updated right here), make sure you come out and attend one of their many events.
